Had an epic conversation about Katharine Prichard with Riley Buchanan on Radio Fremantle yesterday. (May never again encounter such an astute, well-prepared interviewer!) You can listen here until Friday; talking starts at 14 min: http://203.59.4.85:8001/shows_this_week/fri-11_00.mp3

I agree, I was surprised because I thought no one could hold their own with you about KSP but she did very well, LOL maybe she’s been lurking on your blog and following every word….
You won’t be surprised to learn I had to skip the musical choices. At least I could fast-forward over them, when programs do this when I’m listening on a radio, I just switch to another channel. And then (of course) I forget to go back after 3 minutes for the song has ended.

Oh no! The hazard of mixing talk and music. I think Riley had read all of my posts on KSP, which is now a lot.

Yeah, I wish they wouldn’t do it. I mean, everyone knows that music is intensely personal, and there’s always some genre that people loathe so much that they just won’t listen to it. Just as many will turn off, say, country and western, as will turn off modern jazz scat singing, or classical. And IMO it’s a distraction: Fran Kelly playing her faves at Breakfast is time that should be used for what her program is supposed to be: the only daily current affairs program on radio.
#OffMySoapbox, but I loved listening to the discussion, have you been on radio before? You sounded like a pro!

I did 2 interviews in 2004 for The Fur so it’s been a while between drinks…

Hi Nathan, loved the interview! I agree her questions were thoughtful and she seemed really enthusiastic about KSP. You gave enough information to intrigue listeners, but not so much detail that they’d lose interest and switch off, so well done!!!

Thanks Denise! Two hours is a lot of KSP, but hoping you’re right and there *were* intrigued listeners.

If you can harvest the stats for this program somehow, it will help when you pitch the bio to publishers…
